Scott’s Awning’s Pointers When Considering the Purchase of Aluminum Pool Enclosures/Screen Rooms

It is important to research the company you have requested a bid from when starting your pool enclosure/screen room.

Material quality will vary, so ask questions of your contractor.

Companies supplying aluminum to your contractor will be the same as far as the quality of the aluminum, and your colors will normally limited to white or bronze.

Scott’s Awnings uses the 6005 aluminum alloy for the maximum tensile strength, which gives wider and longer spans that improve the site lines of the enclosure.

Our beam connectors are beam knuckles with internal gussett plates. The other connectors some contractors use are called scissor connectors, which means overlapping the beams to create a splice. The scissor connection doesn’t have the strength that the beam knuckles have and do not look as flush.

Types of screening available:

There are several options for the screening used. We use the 18/14 Phifer fiberglass screening or 20/20 on top panels for the pine needles. If you prefer a specialty screen, such as Super Screen, Solar/Sun screen, or Privacy screen, they are also available.

Our first meeting will consist of a discussion of your needs and to take measurements to facilitate the bid.

Our installation personnel will come to your location to inspect terrain, and make any changes that might be needed.

We make sure all permits if required are onsite prior to construction.

Scott’s Awnings is licensed and insured.
